First project for First Grade

In first grade we started off the year completing a color wheel watercolor picture. I love this project because we not only get to talk about color, but we also do crayon resist!

Once we had everything colored in using crayon, I had students use a white crayon to make rain drops. Even though they couldn't see the raindrops when they drew them on their white paper they eventually appeared when they painted on top. I LOVE to see the expressions on my first graders faces when they see their raindrops suddenly appear! It pure amazement!

They are such hard workers!
